: how it began

Oriental Recycling was established in the year 2001 by shareholders Mr Yulin Wang, founder of a Chinese group named Fuxing and Mr Eric De Backer, of Belgian origin and having a profound European waste paper background.

The headquarters of Fuxing Group are situated in Hangzhou, a city of 6 Million inhabitants in the Middle East part of China, Zhejiang Province – about 3 hours driving to Shanghai or Ningbo by car.

Because of the continuous and growing need for raw materials in this part of China, it was our goal to start a genuine purchasing company in Europe (with headquarters in Belgium, near Antwerp), aiming to guarantee a long term purchasing position and intensive day to day relationships on the entire European market. Oriental Recycling was therefore started with European people who have an 'on the floor' waste paper background; having worked in and managed a baling company and an international trading company.

: how we work

Oriental Recycling buys raw materials for recycling all over Europe; from the south of Italy to the north of Scandinavia, Spain, Benelux, UK, France, Germany...

For convenience we always aim to buy the material delivered in marine containers to the closest marine port (FOB, FAS), or directly delivered by our suppliers to China (CFR, CIF). But when needed, we can work out other solutions and buy based on almost any other incoterm.

We are interested in finding and developing long term relationships with our suppliers; thus creating a continuous material outstream for suppliers and instream for the Chinese end users, both in better or in worse market conditions. Apart from that, spot offers are of course also taken into consideration.

All our European suppliers make agreements with a European company, making daily cooperation easier than often is the case when involved in intercontinental relationships and guaranteeing utmost flexibility and financial security.

Being a 'purchaser' rather than a 'trader', we ship 99% of the purchased goods to the ports of Ningbo and Shanghai, for further delivery to our mother company or directly to a number of bigger local mills. Needing material for our own or partner mills, we are able to offer a continuous cooperation to all our suppliers, while excluding local intermediaries.

We aim to create a direct way into the Far East, adapted to the supplier’s needs and wishes.

PAPER

Most of the paper we buy is waste paper, pressed in standard export bales; however, we are also interested in stock lots of rolls or palletized paper.
